About our Catholic Cemeteries

Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Omaha is a non-profit organization serving Catholic families, the clergy and religious orders with the corporal work of mercy of respectfully interring the deceased and providing their perpetual care.

Our five Catholic Cemeteries – Calvary, Resurrection, Holy Sepulchre, St. Mary and Saint Mary Magdalene – are designed and maintained to encourage prayerful visitation through the use of statuary, landscaping, architecture, and Christian memorials.

A Letter from Archbishop George Lucas

Dear Friends in Christ,

Death, seen through the eyes of Christian faith, is not an end in itself.  It is simply a natural passage to eternal life with God. Burial in a Catholic Cemetery is both an expression of our faith and a statement of our continued hope of our own resurrection. These consecrated grounds hold the earthly remains of our family members and friends who have shared their love, fellowship and faith with us. Catholic cemeteries also serve as an extension of the parish community as a lasting and physical testimony that Christian life is unbroken by death.

The sole mission of our five Archdiocesan Catholic Cemeteries is to minister to individuals and families during one of the most difficult times in their lives. This mission encompasses providing compassionate support and assistance in facilitating a loved one’s interment in a consecrated space and the perpetual care thereafter.

The information contained in this website and the dedicated personnel at Catholic Cemeteries will help you in this process.

With best wishes and prayers, I am

Sincerely Yours in Christ,
