Christmas is a difficult time for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one for the first time; but the Advent Season connects memory and hope. This Holy Season awakens in us the most profound memory of God who so loved the world that He sent His only Son to redeem His Father’s creation. This is a time of healing and hope. It is the Church’s sincere desire to continually remind and rehearse this great history of memory for each of us. Even in the despair of having lost a loved one, it is of holiness that we take on the task of Advent to remember and to awaken in all of us the memories of God’s Goodness and thus begin to live.
We invite those who have lost loved ones to please join us for Scripture, holy music, and prayer. We will pray for your peace and healing as we await the coming of the Christ Child. Leave your petitions on the Tree of Hope during the Holy seasons of Advent and Christmas. They will be offered in prayer during all of Advent and presented silently during the January 2020 Memorial Mass. All petitions will be blessed and buried on the cemetery grounds.
