CHI – Infant Interments

CHI – Infant Interments

Twice per year Catholic Cemeteries – Archdiocese of Omaha partners with CHI Health and Heafey Hoffman Dvorak & Cutler Funeral Home to perform a charitable committal of infants lost to miscarriage.  Catholic Cemeteries provides at no cost to the families the community crypt space for infants and the interment service.  Typically, we have over 100 infants interred at one of these services, and have a wonderful turn out of families for the prayer service.  The outpouring of love and healing that occurs is beautiful.

We don’t know what our turnout may be this year with social distancing, so our friends at Heafey Hoffman Dvorak & Cutler have offered to live stream the event, which will begin at 9:00 AM central time on Friday, July 10, 2020.  Deacon Norm Tierney, Catholic Cemeteries Manager of Ministry, will officiate at the service.  If you would like to see the event, please paste the following in your browser:

Pictured above is the infants’ paver garden in St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery, which is located next to the outdoor mausoleum where the infants are laid to rest.  Families may choose to memorialize ther little one by contacting our office.  We have another paver area for infants in St. Mary Magdalene’s Cemetery by the Rachel statue, where two of my grandchildren are memorialized.  May God bless you and the families that so dearly love their  little child.  We trust in God’s providence.
